The project will be the start of an international partnership between these two grassroots printmaking organisations, with potential for artist residencies and print collaborations.
The exchange will involve 32 prints (16 artists from each printmaking studio). One set of 16 Dunfermline prints will be sent to Castlemaine, and vice versa. The full body of work (all 32) will be exhibited in Dunfermline, Scotland and Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia (venues to be advised).
Open to all members (capped at 16 from each country); fee $45/￡25
Prints will be exhibited unframed, shown online and promoted via each organisations’ newsletters, social media and local media. ‘Real life’ launch and exhibition will be conducted in line with COVID restrictions at the time. Artists may offer their prints for sale if they choose, with commissions determined by the exhibiting gallery (details TBC).
A printed catalogue will be produced and made available for public sale (with proceeds shared across the two organisations). Artists will receive a copy as part of their participation.
Prints can be made using any method(s), bleed print or not, minimum edition size of 5 (or a series of 5 or more if the prints are unique state).
Print must be portrait orientation, on a full page (560mm x 760mm).
Artists are encouraged to make the prints at their access studio.
Entry and important dates
Entrants are required to fill out and submit an entry form including a good quality (300 dpi) jpeg image of the work AND fee payment by 31 October 2021,
Selected prints are to be delivered by 30 November 2021.
Selection will be made by an independent panel (to be announced), based on the diversity of printmaking and of our membership. The exhibitions are expected to be held late 2022 (TBC).
